Output level on GX-700?
I used my GX-700 for a session yesterday and the engineer said it was too noisy, so I laid it aside. First complaint I've heard on the matter. I have my output on the back about 1/2 way up, is that the reason for the noise? I shut down my preamp level to about 5 and he still said that it was too much.

GX-700 should be fairly low-noise as long as you don't uae the compressor. THere are probably some other ways to get too much noise if you mismanage the gain structure, but if you keep it simple it should sound just fine. I record with mine all the time, and the noise level is low enough (but not perfect).
Which efx did you have running when the engineer complained?

Earnest, I think that I found my problem. I have my Korg tuner and my GX ganged together and I'm using the loop feature so that I can plug directly into my GX to get the best tone. I think that I plugged into my Korg by mistake. And I think that Bill is right, I should crank the output on the back down to the left. I've been running my input on the front up full and I like that. Do you run it high too, Earnest?
