Almost all makes of pedal steel have their vertical knee levers at an impossible-to-reach height. I've been using Mullen's ingenious little extender for years on both verticals of my PRP D-12. Great little gizmo, wouldn't leave home without it. Puts the KL right where I want it.

Some people with less experience customizing steels may not fully appreciate what's going on here.
I have learned (the hard way) that there are many ways to get a lever where you want it or to add a lever or to make adjustments to suit your physique. Some fixes are elegant and simple, some are elegant and complex (and some are none too elegant at all).
But when you are finished and go to put the guitar to bed in its case and you find that you can't fold up one lever because it hits another lever or you find that the great new vertical lever extension requires you to cut a hole in the case.......
That is why this is cool. Obvious to most but maybe an "aha" moment for others.

Mike, what Jim Palenscar said. My Williams has it, and I rather thought everyone did it this way. Maybe it's a case of "once you see it, it's obvious"!
I am working on a true vertical displacement LKV assembly that requires the same amount of upward movement of the knee wherever your knee is (left or right), but folds away inward to allow the case to close.
I'm doing this because the extended lever fitted to a U12 can only ever be a compromise.
