R&R Sound Amplification - "Solo" Rack Amp

Post by Anna Procenko »

Hey, guys! We would like to introduce you Rob Chapper's review of a new rack "Solo" amplifier
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wXV8rPl9TDE

It's a 50 Watt Tube Amp SOLO amp takes only one rack space (1U) – it is very compact and much lighter than other Tube Amps (weight is about 7 kg), what allows to ease transportation and to use it both for Studio and Stage.

3 footswitchable Sounds – CLEAN, LEAD1 and LEAD2 – give possibility of getting from Classic to Modern Sound. Amp SOLO utilizes 12AX7 Preamp Tubes and 6L6 Power Tubes which can be swapped out with EL34s for a more British Vibe. The Tube buffered Effects Loop is a serial/parallel design with the Effects Mix Control knob.

LINE Output: Mono Output can be routed to a Power Amp or a FX Device via a shielded cable.

RECORD Output: Mono Output to a recording console or a live Mixing Board.

A rotary Impedance allows the use of 4, 8 or 16 Ohm Speaker Cabinets.

I see it has an AMP/STBY/PREAMP switch. Does it work as a preamp and amp simultaneously, and then let you use the preamp only in that position?

It can be used as a preamp separately, connected to any other power amp you want (Mesa, Marshall etc.)
