Pedal Steel Players in Minneapolis area????

I'm a dobro and lap steel player in the NE Minneapolis area. I'm potentially interested in buying a pedal steel but would love to connect with some local players. Are there any pedal steel groups, get togethers, etc. in the Minneapolis area?

If anyone is willing, I would love to check out the lap steel of a local player and try one out to help make a decision if I want to buy one (since they are expensive).

There's forum members Jeff Buesing. Also Andrew Srubas is playing with Pop Wagner. And of course up in Anoka is the Williams factory & Mr. Bill Rudolph, he aint a bad player and might have a couple guitars around. John Ely is another name that comes to mind who used to be active. Mr. Svendahl organized a steel get together last year that the publicity also included other names to check out. He has a Facebook page called MN Steel Guitar with some contact info. All of the above are SGF members. Pop Wagner playing Dec 22 @ 331 Club. Another steeler is Randy Broughten w Gear Daddies, who still play here and there, now and then.

I've seen Joe Savage play several time. He is extremely talented player. I've talked with him a few times on set breaks at shows and he is such a great guy! He's the reason I became interested in lap steel and pedal steel.
